Impacts of Hummingbird Algorithm over the Blogosphere

The Google silently launched its new Search Engine Algorithm for a past one month. And now, during its 15th Birthday on September 27th they officially announced the release of their new Search Engine Algorithm – “Hummingbird Algorithm”, expecting to be a replacement for current Page Rank Algorithm. Since the release of this new Algorithms, the term -“Hummingbird Algorithm” has gone viral. There are rumors one side., like Facing a sudden drop of 90% of Unique Visitors. Some say, even their sub domain blogs on Blogger Platform gets increased traffic from 40-100 from 5-10 UV.

What is Google’s new “Hummingbird Algorithm”?

Impacts of Hummingbird Algorithm by Google. How this new release Algorithm affects the whole Blogosphere.

Though Google often bake many updates like Panda, Penguin after a long time it released its new Algorithm. Actually, Google released its first search Algorithm in 2001. That was fabulous, which make us still run behind it –Page Rank Algorithm. And now, for the new release, they named it as Hummingbird Algorithm. Till now we didn’t get the actual working process from Google Web Spam Head -“Matt Cutts“. Yet, with my SEO experience I could able to figure out a few changes that happened after the new -“Hummingbird Algorithm” update. As we predicted, it is more capable of delivering you better search results than the past Algorithm.

But how? So, I started digging into the deep. My interest on upcoming web technology –The Semantic Web, tinkled in mind. I tried to correlate the effects happening in present search results and effects expected by the Semantic Web. At a part of the time I could figure it out that, they (Google) partially implemented the semantic Web into the Page Rank Algorithm. Yes! This alteration is the only way that could enhance your web search results. Google has used and still using meta keywords, meta description etc. This could fetch relevant results for your query but why don’t you still find thwarted in getting answers to your assignments. You need to use too many relevant keywords for your expected search result. This is all because of incapability of machines to read your content. Your content will be readable by the humans but not machine readable. Here comes, the semantic web to solve the issue and provide the best search engine to in the world.

The impact of “Hummingbird algorithm” over the Blogosphere

Many of us might screw up by the current “Hummingbird Algorithm“. Later, few webmasters gave advice of using long tail keywords that actually works. But what’s the secret behind it? The metadata is not completely dead, it is the mixture of both metadata and the Semantics. So, if you are using long tail keyword like “Nokia Lumia 520 Review“. And probably Google would gain knowledge of your content so easily. The most affected people by Hummingbird Algorithm would be of people who used single keyword with less backlinks. Google now also finds that most of the search query is also coming from voice mode. Usually it comes from our native language with no stress over keywords. So, the new Algorithm is also concentrating keywords of Question types like “Who, What, What” and many more.

SEO Tips to kick back Hummingbird Algorithm

  1. Use Long Tail Keywords.
  2. Make your content too original.
  3. Concentrate over Co-citations
  4. Build your website’s Backlinks with relevant websites.
  5. Consider the question words as keywords too, like “Why, When and how?”

My few words…

Please don’t make much concentration about Google’s changing SEO factors. Make a really unique content-rich articles, that’s the only possibility to drive you traffic. Build your relationship with Blogosphere, interact with them. So, that you could come up with new ideas, increasing web traffic and link building.

    • Thanks Gautam 🙂 Subscribing will be most appreciable 😉 BTW, most of them wrongly understood that their sudden drop happens only due to penguin update or any. The sad thing is still most of them are practicing the conventional SEO practices. The Google is modifying their Search to RDF and ontologies. They’re the “TRIPLES” concept plays well. IE., Subject, predicate and the object. So, we are in need to use the long tail keyword including the joining words. Try this, and reply me with your results. 🙂

  1. David Hood says:

You are right about focusing more in developing great content rather that creating strategies to fight hummingbird. The algorithm is an ally of trusted websites. It is aimed at weeding out spammy content from the search results.

    • Thank you David! Recently we are hearing so many Algorithms like Semantic Web, Syntactic Web, Entity Based Search etc. All are designed only to find a fresh original content. And by the way, We could have seen some blogs are ranked PR 1-2, but they published only 5-10 articles. The matter lies in content only and let’s try to give our best 🙂
